Perform or Die

From April 16 to 20 Norogachi

Performancear o Morir is a Cosmos Factory initiative led by Magda Rivera and Gustavo Alvarez, with more than ten years of work in developing projects in contemporary art such as the First Binational Meeting of Current Art, Perfo Juárez, InSitu Guanajuato, and Diploma in Current Art among others.

For 10 years the Intercultural Meeting ” Performancear or Die” has been held , which invites national and international artists to learn about Raramuris traditions, with the intention that artists find in them a deeper connection with the world; since western art has become increasingly distant. We had the interest of artists and anthropologists because they see in this project a way to continue to learn from our indigenous culture through a respectful process accompanying the feast  of Easter

All this with the purpose of motivating an encounter between these two cultures (raramuri and western), in a cordial but above all respectful way, living together and talking in a loud voice their conceptions of the world, of life, of divergences and convergences ;, so our intention is that both cultures look at each other and ask for that other that complements them; motivating an interrelation approach process where after knowing and recognizing each other there is always the intention of finding ways to expand this dialogue that is just beginning. Thus lasting relationships of friendship can be born, but above all we believe that reflections arise that lead us to realize the need for otherness.
